Classics have valid California DMV paperwork such as Lien Sale Packet or Title/Pink Slip. If vehicle has lien sale packet you are required to obtain California title in order to transfer the vehicle out of state. If vehicle notes it has a title you can transfer out of state without re-registering it in California. Vehicles noted "not in DMV system" will require a VIN verification at buyers expense. 

Buyer has five days from date of purchase to register vehicle in their name with DMV.
